The weather during the previous winter in Oregon made me realize its time to make another extended visit to Thailand.

I'm writing this during my last week in Portland. I've rented a storage unit for the first time. I'm excited and apprehensive at the same time about leaving Portland. I know that during the cold months I'll really appreciate being someplace warm.

(filled in this post a bit in May 2026) I gave up my apartment in Portland, which makes a longer stay much easier. After a couple months in the country it became obvious that this place should be home, and I go to America for visits. I ended up in the Jet Yod neighborhood in Chiang Mai. It felt amazing to have a good sized apartment that felt like a long(er) term place to stay.
