good news is i have a route. the bad news is the weather will probably be a showstopper. the first two days are the STP ride in reverse. The next two days are the "Bicycling the Pacific Coast" inland route through widbey island. a couple ferryboat rides later puts the trip at tsawwassen, BC, 20 miles from Vancouver. its a 5 day trip with a campground located for each night. although know it looks even more likely i'll just be taking the train/bus option because of weather. adventures are fun but rain can kill the fun in a heartbeat. the weather for points in washington this week are rainy for the rest of the week. i dont know what next week will be like.
for future referernce, here is the trip outline with costs Day 1 68mi: Portland, Or to Winlock, Wa. River Oaks RV Park ($15/night) Day 2 78mi: Winlock to Potlach state park ($15/night) Day 3 64mi: Potlack to Port Townsend ($15/night) Day 4 41mi: Port Townsend to Anacortes ($15/night) Day 5 22mi: Anacortes Ferry to Sidney, BC. (leaves 7:45am, $22, 2.5hours). Swarts Bay ferry to Tsawwassen (leaves every 2 hours, $15, 1.5hours). Tsawwassen to Vancouver.
total: 5 days and $80 each way.
