ive been in the south bay all week. its california all right. the only bit of the city ive seen is el camino real which is like a bigger SE 82nd in portland. {Hotel, Strip Mall, Restaurant}.repeat(:infinity).

my ruby skills are getting kicked up  a notch. bam! we're using RESTful controllers and ActiveResource, which is leading edge for rails and ive had to learn some new ruby foo. like class-level instance variables.

the food from restaurants in general is noticeably better than portland restaurants. everything costs 15% more, plus there is sales tax. the hotel is bargain-basement but its good enough. i find myself sleeping better here than at home, which is a big deal. i use more words on an average day.
