just tried secondlife. to my suprize the new character creation can happen using SMS as verification instead of a creditcard number. interesting place. the most fun so far is that anyone can fly at any time. the whole place seems to have a strong theme of partying and adult relationships. the control over the look of one's character and clothing is very good.

my desktop PC was having trouble keeping up. the world looked okay but not great. i did manage to 'create' a few blocks of wood and place them in the world. again, spontaneous flying is really really cool.
