Many people work hard. Many people work primarily for a paycheck. I think many people, like me, throw their paycheck into a pile, budget for rent and utilities, and live frugally knowing that whatever small amount is spent on going out, etc is covered. That's the extent of  money management.

a "web 2.0" app to provide effective, simple financial management would be a swell dotcom idea. These sites were hot for a while - financial aggregators i suppose you could call them. i cant remember the names of any of them now. I used to use one. The site was able to pull readings from my bank accounts and do various analysis on them.
