the cost of living

on my way to a lunch trailer in industrial NW, there was a few people sitting next to a large banner that read "low wages = homelessness".

what im trying for it not to make more, but to live well on less. almost nothing. then i would be free to pursue my own interests. luckily my job is close to my own interests, but close only counts in horseshoes and government work.

if employers dont want to pay more for their positions, then the cost of rent should be cheap. really cheap. a tent city away from the urban core. once you had that, other factors would move to the forefront. no crime and sanitation would be critical. i think eduation,  the phrase "polite society" comes to mind, has a big impact there.
