i had a great afternoon & evening at dave and alina's. i got a fairly large dose of jewish community. dave and alina have a 7 day old son. i brought over an antenna and dave hacked it into a USB wifi client that worked suprizingly well. we went to a friend of dave's house and put it in his window. He has added on to his original house, over doubling the square footage and adding an entire floor. it was an amazing amount of carpentry work for one man, with his wife and five children. the wife of their rabbi came to the apartment with three beautiful young children who gathered around alina and the newborn and sang to them. i was on the computer, looking up information about next quarter's PSU classes. I had some of the chicken they were having for dinner and bicycled home.

there was some exciting speculation on #ptp - more dreaming of a city wide wireless infrastructure. as usual i was imaging lots of different projects. each one equally interesting and each one getting no more than 3 minutes of mind-time. it sucks to be pulled in so many directions and not really work on any of them. PTPnet deployment, PTPnet management software, the supertrike, ap radar, wrt54g mesh software, my master's theis - scalable data structures, and the 300lb gorilla - job hunting.

i did hardly any job hunting today. i stopped by PSU to renew my gym locker and to check on financial aid. it turns out i can take another quarter, no questions asked, and rack up an even bigger bill. i'll most likely be able to loan all i need and then some in februrary. im very debt adverse right now.
