Sender Permitted From is a very interesting defense against spam. They have finished their protocol document and are encouraging its widespread deployment. Go SPF!!

Also interesting in the spam wars is spamhole, which actually accepts mail that is trying to relay through a site and drops it on the floor. Mostly I really like the name of the project.
