For any potential investors, this company is different. There is no intellectual property, and no patents will be filed*. All employment is at-will and there are no non-disclosure or non-compete clauses. Employee compensation has the spirit of profit-sharing, with possibly a fixed limit on the spread between the lowest percentage paid and the highest percentage paid. What is for sale to investors is a percenage of future profits for a fixed time period. A hypothetical example: you can buy 1% of our future profits for the year starting from our first profitable month for $1000 today.

The tasks are Hardware R&D (getting broadcom driver support, etc), Software R&D (just one radio for AP and mesh, IP routing), Case design, Vendor/Materials selection, some marketing and business relationship development (not a lot).

I was thinking for IP routing it'd be great if we could get someone's retired IPv4 class A space (we can't use privatenet addresses). The mesh itself uses IPv6, but there is a 6-to-4 gateway on each meshbox.

ive got a talent pool to work with: collord, eden, johnson, jensen, coderman, schroeder. I imagine different people would be involved and then be uninvolved as the different phases progressed. hours worked, entitlement for future compensation, would be recorded on a really cool web-app. so it would be clear just what you did and it would not be forgotten.

some people are only good at getting things off the ground. If the meshbox thing is a success in the consumer market, I wonder if I'll still be genuinely interested in it even after im financially independent. the meshbox will be ready to launch when it is insanely great!

  • there is the remote possibilty of filing a patent and throwing it away, as a technique for keeping a particular piece of think-space patent free. isnt that funny.
