my classes have mailing lists. it an astounding shift in learning. im exposed to the interactions between other students that have for a thousand years been private, not because they were meant to be private necessarily, but because thats how face to face interaction had to work. In emails I read there are subtle clues to over all class indicators of interest, problem difficulty, response to authority, etc.

In our lifetimes, humanity as a species has developed to where it has a permanent habitation in space. I see that as a phenominal milestone in our development, as big as using tools or written language, and it happened during the span of the lifetime of people reading this blog - our lifetime.
maybe the speed of change in human life is meant to grow exponentially in time. it seems that each new revolution is occuring faster than the last one.
