i put things in my blog so i dont have to remember them. Ive been perusing MIT's Open Course Ware project. Its a very cool idea, but the bulk of the material is lecture notes and their idea of lecture notes are slides full of bullet points. I was hoping for something more.
Yesterday I picked up the IPv6 flag, started rattling cages of local ISPs. Their answers were disappointly uniforimly negative. Who needs enough IP address space for all our PDAs and cell phones? Noone is demanding autoconfiguration or encryption... nahhh. Multicast? never heard of it. Service discovery? wha?
My own IPv6 trials have been marginally successful. IPv6 is harder than IPv4 and not that autoconfiguring, so far. For instance its common for an IPv6 interface to have multiple addresses. A link local address, and more addresses of wider scope. More than any other feature I want neighbor and service discovery. Multicast RTSP streams would be cool too.
Its 4:50am and Im up. I was dehydrated when I went to bed. I had the last bit of a watermellon sliced up night before last, but by the time I got home last night, it was gone. I love Hermiston watermellon in August.
I talked to the HR person at speakeasy. They got my resume but arent looking at them until Sep 15! the hiring manager is going on vacation. crap.
