EarthLCD has this $284 touchscreen LCD panel that would go great on my recumbent trike. Or I could go with a $49 serial 20x2 "vacuum florescent" sunlight-readable display or this $42 serial 24x8 character non-backlit lcd display with 10 key input panel. The $42 lcd display would also be great to mount by the front door for a keypad door lock or a status indicatior for an rfid based door lock. Assuming all my clothes had rfid tags, id register some of my clothes (maybe just pairs of underwear) with the doorlock, and put an rfid reader in the entryway. oh and maybe with an rfid reader on the trike, it would 'turn on' once i got close. The links for the panels came from the dashpc project. Its based on a VIA mini-itx mobo like this one at fry's for $130 with 600mhz cpu.
