im watching "Live from Baghdad", a dramatized version of the CNN news reporters who stayed in baghdad to cover the story of a lifetime. Its a bit campy but has some real merit. It reminded me that I was 500 feet from where GW Bush talked on Thursday during January 16 2001 - the start of operation desert storm.

there is a bit in the film where GH Bush calls the CNN head and asks him to stop. This is conveyed to the producer in baghdad who asks about Ted Turner's reponse. The CNN head says Ted Turner says we're an international news station and we'll continue to broadcast the news. I felt good about the power vested in the people to flip the government the bird on issues of free speech.
