The Dee Hock book is

The Dee Hock book is getting better and better. It keeps telling me "believe in yourself!" and "dont be afraid to do crazy shit". It says there are three ways to look at things: how they were, how they are, how they might become, and how they ought to be. I read it on the MAX trip out to K's place and back. Its such a long trip that I get a good amount of reading done. K had an end of summer session get-together at her house. Listening to education majors talk about school made me understand when non-nerds have to listen to computer conversations. I did manage to stock up on pears from their pear tree. yummy! they have the most enormous two grape vines. Its growing over a structure the size of 8 queen size beds. That'll be so good when they ripen.

Tomorrow K and I are going into the Bull of the Woods. Real backpacking this time. I just hope we bring the right things. especially the right food.

There is a quote from Dee Hock, the founder of VISA intertnational, saying something like I think credit cards are a bad idea and i havent used one in 16 years. His ability is in realizing the next generation of corporate organizations. Taken even further still and you could call them Adhocracies.
