i had the most phenominal weekend. K and I were together the whole weekend. We had dinner on Friday. On Saturday we were at the DoubleTree at the lloyd to volunteer for the bridg epedal expo. That was fun - dealing with the public (for short periods of time) is really entertaining to me. I like the huge variety of people that show up and the defined process of how the interaction is supposed to work. Plus the person sitting on the "store" side of the interaction has most of the power. People were really friendly and it was fun to deal with the quick calulations and working with the other volunteers who were really good. Kristina and I sat in adjacent spots right at the front of the registration area. I made some mistakes, like one guy paid for a tshirt but i didnt give him the coupon to hand to the tshirt people - he never came back for it, which was weird. I told a couple people they could take their kids for free on a seat-post tandem thingy but that wasnt right. A few people asked about the route and everyone seemed to like it when I chitchat'ed with them about how many times they've done the ride before, and how this year the course was laid out in reverse. We got a free water bottle, free yougurt, a free entrance to the ride, and a free tshirt. When we were done we went walking around the expo. One booth was measuring bodyfat. Im at 11.2% which they said was just right. At the running booth Paula said Keanu Reeves was in Portland and she went running with him as part of a scene in his new movie Thumbsuckers.
