on Friday I was trying

on Friday I was trying to give K as much leeway as possible as she went to a concert with a housemate and former boyfriend. I think we have a pretty committed relationship but i was upset because earlier she implied she wasnt going. We had plans to meet up Saturday night. I felt it would be good to do something to take my mind off things so I went to the Mission theater and saw Bowling for Columbine. It was fun to watch. The movie had a lot of content, it went on for a couple hours and was never boring. There was footage from the security cameras in the cafeteria at Columbine that I'll never forget. The bits about "KMart bullets" I felt were unfair but the change they got out of KMart was simply incredible. Michael Moore did an amazing job with the film. It felt genuine and intelligent 90% of the time.

On Saturday I woke up, excited about Seth's move into his new SE Portland house. I forgot that with my vw not running I could not actually get to his old lake oswego condo. I had planned on biking to the new house but that wasnt as much help since most of the work was packing the truck on the first trip. Seth was somewhat miffed. I showed up at the new house at 1pm just as the UHaul was backing into the driveway. It was nice to see his parents again. Everyone was moving fast as the truck was due back at 5pm and we had another small load to bring over. His new house is beautiful in a really great part of town, just blocks from Hawthorne. I hadnt been working as long as everyone else but i had this feeling of strength that was amazing. Its got to be from this extended period of not working which means Im biking all the time. Plus I can do a pull-up again :). I felt like I wanted to keep going, keep using my body. Maybe I should join a sport. After the move I talk to Kristina who said she didnt feel like going anywhere and a friend came over who is leaving the country soon. Now I felt disappointed, let down, and upset. We talked on the phone for a bit, and I went over to my next to-do for Saturday: Wil's house.

Wil's batchelor party began in his back yard. There was a keg, and a BBQ. Now Wil and Mike (the best man) are really into meat. They're grade-A carnivores. We had three kinds of speciality meat: ostrich patties, buffalo patties, and wild boar ribs. Ryan was there and brought his famous BBQ sauce. The Ostrich burger tasted good. The buffalo burger I had was good in large part to the excellent BBQ sauce. The boar ribs were tasty. I havent had ribs in a long time. It was good to see my other friends gathered: Nigel, Darrin, Lucas, and a couple Reedies I hadnt seen in a long time. We went out in a posh van/limo beast of a vehicle (seats 18, front and rear TV screens, wet bar). We hit up a few places (all of which Ive been to before), and ate Krispy Kremes! My first doughts from KK. They were very good. We handed out a few to girls passing by. At 1am people were dispersing and we headed home. I had about 4 drinks and I was glad to wake up the next day without any hangover simptoms.

Now its Sunday. Sam has left me the reigns of DailyWireless for the weekend while he has some birthday fun at the coast (Hi Sam!). Its hard coming up with interesting stuff to write about, or even to find other content to pilfer. Ive got two articles up and its been interesting. I intend to continute to contribute to the content of the site even after Sam comes back. I was axious to talk to Kristina about how I was upset. I finally did and I felt much better afterwards. Now im back in the basement, listening to techno, updating my livejournal. Im going to read more from Lord of the Rings - only 80 pages from the end!
