it was an eventful

it was an eventful weekend. on friday I went to Aaron B.'s place for a BBQ. Let it be known that the BBQ season has officially begun. It was a nice get-together - his wife Eden is an interesting person and they have a cool apartement that is close-in. I made yet another little video with Dave's cool intel camera that does like 6 minutes of video on a mulitmedia card that I just pop into the windows box. Kristina came over near the end of the BBQ after work. Once she got there we hung out for a few minutes and then took off. I subsequently forgot my bookbag, the camera, my sunglasses, just about everything except my bicycle.

I got up Saturday morning just in time to join Lucas and co. for a really fun day on the river. The lewis river is just wide enough and fast enough to be interesting and small enough that you can cross it on foot. We had rafts and floated down "the rapids" and had a lot of beer. When I think of going to the river I think I'll need a couple sandwiches and a bottle of water. Since this was a Sheehan event, we had two large coolers filled with beer and ice. We had separate bags of ritz, cheeze-its, oreos, and watermellon. Then we to Lucas' home around 6pm and BBQed and had yet more beer and food. I had a hangover on Sunday morning and I despise hangovers. Mostly I learned that I go with the environment Im in and often feel that the limits i set for myself are contradictory and too hard to follow. Sunday morning I got up and got on the max to go way out to aloha to get to Kristina's place. Its her birthday tomorrow and she had a BBQ at her place for her family and friends. So thats BBQ #3 in as many days. w00t. K has a nice family and her housemates are pretty cool. She had two girlfriends over that I met as well. I wondered what conclusion GirlNet(tm) came to in regards to how fitting I was to be K's boyfriend. I took the max back into town and I made a pit-stop at Aaron B.s' place to get my stuff. Then I went over to Adam's place to work on project f. When I got to Adam's there was a whole bunch of people in a cool commons area behind their apartment. A&T were (suprize!) BBQing some fish. It was yummy along with some well-done asparagus. Darrin came by and we made some good progress. I did a lot of eating over the weekend but I think its okay because im also doing a lot more biking. when i cycled to SF I was eating like a horse.

Today was long. I got up at 10:30am so right away I was not too happy with that. I mailed some bills and finally got out of the house at 12:30pm. I had a super good time riding into town today. I had the music jammin from dave's mp3 player and I have it loaded with music I like. Over the last week my legs have been feeling really over-used but today they felt restored and powerful. the mp3 player makes me feel like im the star of 7 different music videos. The ride in is probably the best part of my day. It gives me exercise which reduces anxiety and I love rolling. The feel of it is fast and sleek and graceful. I met darrin at world cup coffee and we hacked on the secret project that starts with an 'f'. We made some more progress. at 5pm I went to pioneer courthouse square and had a honkin huge burrito. i love those things. Dave was on his way into town and kept me company while I eat. This adhoc hooking up with friends throughout the day and not living by an alarm clock is just the best. Who would want to give that up? Thats mostly why Im staying with dotcom schemes rather than a 9to5 gig, for as long as the money lasts. At 6pm we had a meeting with all the players in project f. It was much more argumentative than normal and I felt like I was doing most of the arguing. It was tough and I think Im still upset over it which is partly why I cant sleep which means I'll get up late which means its a shitty cycle restarted. the start and end parts can be shitty but the middle part is very good. I changed my alarm clock radio from classical to some other station - that may help me get up. Im out of milk so i cant make chocolate milk - that has been helping me sleep lately. mostly i need to keep aware of the time better and get home earlier. after the meeting I went to dave's place at 8pm and whoosh! it was 10:20pm before I knew it. I didnt want to over-do the cycling so I got on the max but didnt get home until 11:30pm. They had a fare inspection and it was really ghestappo-like. 4 cops and 4 trimet rent-a-cops with guns enter in each door before someone can walk out, asking for fucking bus tickets. i think its overkill and unnecessary intimidation on those who can't afford it. one homeless looking guy (with a suprizingly nice mountain bike) was pulled off the train for not having a ticket.

Just another day in paradise...
