a few mornings ago i

a few mornings ago i had an amazing ride into the the UG. The air felt like a summer morning when I left the house. I just got the hang of riding while listening to the mp3 player im borrowing from dave. There is a hill on burnside around 70th. its a short steep climb up then a long ride down. As I crested the hill, Mr. Roboto starts playing. It has a great subtle into and builds up to a strong rhythm. The adrenilne starts flowing, the danger of the cars on the road and above average speeds. A feeling of efficiency and power comes over me and I roll at a medium speed down the top 1/4th of the hill to a red light. I look down to check for problems like dangling cords or low tire pressure that could be a problem during the maneuver im about to perform. I notice the front bike wheel as the spokes flash in a perfect arc. I look up, waiting for that green light. 'come on... come on... give me the green...'. the right lane is clear while the left lane has 4 cars stacked at the light. The light turns green and I start pedaling at 110%. As I cross the intersection I buzz 3 cars and Im to 20mph. Im neck and neck with another car, the driver gives me a funny look and I top out at 27mph, get tired, and fall back. I go the rest of the way to the UG and describe the fun i had to Dave who had already arrived. It was the best commute ive had this year.
