i just got back from a personal telco related run with aml and redshift. It was much fun. There is something about the group and its activities that has life. We started by getting a couple free drinks at a coffee stop, then went to psychonautical to install a different antenna. Its fun to walk in to a store, know the owner and say hi, walk upstairs where the public isnt allowed, and do our work. Range testing on the street we have people walk by and make jokes about being part of a spy group or a news team. Then we go to the hostel and after being welcomed by the owner and catching up on the news of the hostel, someone comes in with a load of free pastries that we enjoy while sitting on the deck of the hostel on a beautiful summer evening. beanbag couches and some juice we brought kept us comfortable. We were still on the net and I wrote up a summary for the setup mailing list. Its not a bad way to spend a sunday afternoon.

For me, it still has an overriding feeling of getting something done. Which right now is an important feeling. I feel that its dilligence and perseverence that will get me out of the situation that Im in right now - living in a house I dont really want to be in and spending money that Im not making.
