at a 'town hall' style meeting in Portland last week, white house 'cyberspace' security advisor Richard Clark said that war will be fought with bits and bytes instead of people and guns. I hope that comes true. Or what if machines end up fighting machines?
We're on that path. Already we have remote-control weapons-bearing airplanes. They have been sent out by our government to eliminate people. The natural response is an automatic vehicle to counteract the automatic vehicles. Maybe wars could take place on a planet far far away, full of machines belonging to each side, and the winning group could be sent an internet greeting card saying, congratulations, you won! That also means the looser has to obey his greeting card and give up land, etc, to the winner.
